Sara Davidson’s Leap

It’s that stage in life somewhere between what we once were and what many try to hold on to – sometimes desperately. Futilely.

It’s the point where choices narrow into thin slivers of possibilities. The passage from middle age into that later, often unspoken stage.

Author Sara Davidson hit the panic button in her late 50’s. The writing gigs had dried up, her lover had called it a day, and her children went away. She found herself suddenly home alone; her identity shredded like a dozen job rejection letters.

Then she found other Baby Boomers in similar straights, all asking the same question: What to do with the rest of our lives? Davidson says she learned to embrace the future. Not to fear it. To leap forward and not fall backwards.

This Hour On Point: Life Lessons with Sara Davidson.

Guests:

Sara Davidson, former screenwriter and author of Leap: What Will We Do With the Rest of Our Lives.
