Judith Jones: A Life in Food

While the fast food nation has revolutionized America’s eating habits, another, quieter revolution has taken place at the other end of the culinary spectrum. And today, if you’re a “foodie” — as devotees of good food and cooking are called — you may have Judith Jones to thank.

When Julia Child’s first manuscript, for “Mastering the Art of French Cooking,” crossed her desk, Jones, one of the most influential editors of the last half century, said it was the book “[she'd] been searching for.” And with that, a culinary revolution was on.
