I like the fact that Mr. Ashbrook kept the discussion civil and on topic. I think Mr. Ashbrook would have been a great moderator for one the presidential debates.

I was very pleased with Thursday's discussion of the two candidate's economic plans. I think the Economist reporter offered good balance. Please continue on this path of two extremes and a sane middle.

I am glad the treasury is going into the ownership of companies. I have watched my 401K shrink, my kids' college savings decline in real value, and our home value fall. I want the whole country to have skin in the game!

Please make me pay higher taxes to employ people to rebuild our infrastructure and new energy grid. Change the tax laws to encourage saving in IRAs. Make me pay to strengthen the safety net for seniors. Make me pay to make sure all citizens have access to health care without the insurance industry going to the bank (if it's still open!).

We have lived too long on credit -- getting much for nothing down in return. I am ready and willing to pay to repair our nation's infrastructure ... I just want a return on investment and transparency in government.

Goolsbee was brilliant and not just because I happen to be an Obama supporter. He explained McCain's mortgage proposal better than anyone I've heard anywhere and made starkly clear what's wrong with it. I hope you'll have him on again, he was brilliant.
