Another good (and literary!) book about travels thru backroads America is Mary Beard Durant and Michael Harwood's "Travels with Audubon" which duplicates in 1975 or so a "Blue Highway" to all the places associated with Audubon's travels over the course of his long life. Very highly recommended for artists, historians and backroaders. 650 pages.

To whom it may concern:
I have been trying to find an e-mail address for William Least Heat Moon, & since I've been unable to do so, I hope you'll pass this message on. William Least Heat Moon was my mother's favorite author. She even attended the dedication of the Nikawa In Columbia, Mo. 2 years ago. She made the first donation to get the ball rolling for that project. I thought he would like to know that she has passed on. But every time my sisters or I pick up one of his books to read, our thoughts will also go to our Mother, for we know how much she loved his books. She read and re-read them and gave many book reports to the various groups that she belonged to in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Thank you, Gloria DeLongy
