The world of blogging achieved another major milestone today, when for the first time ever, a blogger was given a White House press-pass. Garrett Graff writes for “Fishbowl DC”, a blog that covers the Washington media. Graff’s inspiration to be the first blogger inside the White House: Jeff Gannon, the onetime White House press conference regular who quit his job with Republican owned and operated Talon News, after bloggers revealed his connections to gay websites.
The White House claimed Gannon got through Secret Service scrutiny by using a renewable day pass. Garrett Graff wanted to see just how easy it is to get a White House day pass. He put the process to the test.
In this radio diary, Garrett Graff describes what it was like to be the first legitimate blogger in the White House.
